BA and MA degrees were launched in 2000-2001 and Phd degree in 2005-2006. The program provides students with a rigorous foundation in economic theory and its applications, helps to improve analythical thinking. Language of instructiontion is English
Program Objectives
The Master's Program in Economics is a two-year program equivalent in content and rigor to the first two years of top Ph.D. programs in economics worldwide. The program provides a solid foundation in economic theory and applications and prepares academically oriented students for doctoral study. For students who aim to serve as economists in the public or private sector the program provides highly demanded skills in economic analysis and policy.
Qualification Awarded
The Master 's Degree in Economics ( second cycle in Economics) is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Exemptness from the courses which are included in transfer and student exchange programs are regulated by the related articles in Information on the Instruction Letter For Sabancı Unıversity Graduate. At Sabancı University, apart from formal education institutions, there is no recognition process for informal-based or experience-based (in-formal and non-formal) learning.
Program Specific Outcomes:
- Come up with research questions about economic issues.
- Construct reasoned arguments, synthesize relevant information, and critically analyze subject material.
- Read and understand articles published in academic economics journals.
- Construct a well-organized logical argument with clearly stated assumptions and hypotheses and, if necessary, be able to test or support it with relevant data.

- Reflect on social and ethical responsibilities in his/her professional life.
